Product Description
ERNiCrMo-17 is a high-performance nickel-chromium-molybdenum solid welding wire compliant with AWS A5.14/A5.14M standards, specifically designed for welding HASTELLOY® C-2000® (UNS N06200) and other similar corrosion-resistant alloys. It features a unique chemical profile with nickel as the balance, 22.0-24.0wt.% chromium, 15.0-17.0wt.% molybdenum, and a deliberate addition of 1.3-1.9wt.% copper. This filler metal is compatible with GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) processes. It is an exceptional candidate for joining homogeneous alloys, dissimilar welding between nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys and molybdenum-containing stainless steels, and for high-performance corrosion-resistant overlay cladding.
Features
▪ Broadest Spectrum of Corrosion Resistance: ERNiCrMo-17 offers excellent resistance to uniform corrosion in a vast variety of media, effectively bridging the gap between oxidizing and reducing environments. The addition of copper enhances its resistance to reducing acids, such as sulfuric and hydrochloric acids, while the high chromium content ensures superior performance in oxidizing media.
▪ Superior Resistance to Localized Attack: The alloy provides exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking (SCC), particularly in chloride-bearing solutions. Its precise chemical balance ensures that welded joints maintain high integrity even under severe chemical and thermal stress.
▪ Excellent Fabricability and Weldability: ERNiCrMo-17 is known for its smooth weld formation and consistent performance across various welding processes. The specialized RTW™ finish on spooled wire ensures reliable feeding through welding equipment and reduced contact tip wear, facilitating high-quality results in both manual and automated welding.
Applications
▪ ERNiCrMo-17 is widely utilized in the most demanding chemical and industrial sectors:
▪ Chemical Processing: Used for reactors, heat exchangers, and piping systems handling a wide range of aggressive oxidizing and reducing chemicals.
▪ Pollution Control: Ideal for flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems, including scrubbers, reheaters, and fans exposed to corrosive gases.
▪ Pulp & Paper Industry: Applied in bleaching systems, washers, and equipment handling aggressive chlorine-based chemicals.
▪ Energy Sector: Utilized in nuclear engineering and components for high-temperature gas-cooled reactors.
▪ Overlay & Cladding: Used for high-performance corrosion-resistant surfacing of carbon and low-alloy steels.
