Product Description
ERNiCrMo-2 is a high-performance nickel-chromium-molybdenum solid welding wire compliant with AWS A5.14/A5.14M standards, specifically designed for welding HASTELLOY® X (UNS N06002) and other similar nickel-based superalloys. It features a balanced composition with nickel as the remainder, 20.5-23.0wt.% chromium, 17.0-20.0wt.% iron, and 8.0-10.0wt.% molybdenum. This filler metal is compatible with GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and Plasma Arc Welding (PAW) processes. It is an excellent candidate for joining homogeneous alloys, dissimilar welding between solid-solution nickel-based alloys and Ni-Fe-Cr alloys, and for corrosion-resistant overlay cladding.
Features
▪ Exceptional High-Temperature Strength and Oxidation Resistance: ERNiCrMo-2 weld metal provides an outstanding combination of high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance, maintaining its integrity at temperatures up to 2200°F (1200°C)。It exhibits good ductility even after prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures, such as 16,000 hours at 1200-1600°F.
▪ Superior Resistance to Stress-Corrosion Cracking (SCC): This alloy has been found to be exceptionally resistant to stress-corrosion cracking, particularly in demanding petrochemical applications. Its robust chemical profile ensures reliable performance under severe thermal and chemical stresses.
▪ Excellent Fabricability and Weldability: ERNiCrMo-2 is known for its excellent fabricability and smooth weld formation. The specialized RTW™ finish on spooled wire promotes consistent feeding through welding equipment and reduces contact tip wear, ensuring high-quality results in automated and manual processes
Applications
ERNiCrMo-2 is widely utilized in high-temperature and critical industrial environments:
▪ Aerospace Industry: Used for gas turbine engine components, including combustion chambers, afterburners, and tailpipes.
▪ Petrochemical Industry: Ideal for high-temperature processing equipment and reactors where resistance to stress-corrosion cracking is vital.
▪ Industrial Furnaces: Applied in heat-treating equipment, furnace rolls, and support structures exposed to extreme heat.
▪ Energy Sector: Utilized in nuclear engineering and components for high-temperature gas-cooled reactors.
