Product Description

ENi-1 (Alloy 141) is a premium high-nickel covered arc welding electrode compliant with AWS A5.11/A5.11M standards, designed for commercially pure nickel alloys such as Nickel 200 (UNS N02200) and Nickel 201 (UNS N02201). Featuring an ultra-high nickel content of 92.0-97.6% with titanium addition of 1.0-4.0% and strict impurity control (C≤0.10%, S≤0.02%, P≤0.03%), it provides exceptional corrosion resistance, particularly in alkaline environments. Compatible with Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process using DC+ polarity, it supports welding of homogeneous pure nickel materials, dissimilar metal joints (nickel to steel, nickel to stainless steel), and corrosion-resistant surfacing/cladding applications on steel components.

Features

▪ Superior Alkali Resistance: The high-purity nickel composition delivers outstanding corrosion resistance in alkaline solutions, making it ideal for chemical processing applications involving soda, sodium metal silicates, and various caustic environments. The weld metal maintains integrity in both reducing and moderately oxidizing media.
▪ Excellent Weldability with High Purity: Titanium addition (1.0-4.0%) effectively controls porosity in the weld metal, while low impurity levels ensure clean, sound welds. The electrode provides smooth arc stability, easy arc initiation, and good slag detachability for consistent welding performance across all positions.
▪ Versatile Dissimilar Metal Joining: Successfully joins nickel alloys to carbon steel, stainless steel, and various iron-based alloys. Also suitable for welding the clad side of nickel-clad steel and repairing cast iron castings, providing reliable metallurgical compatibility.
Good Mechanical Properties: Deposited weld metal exhibits tensile strength of 60,000-72,000 psi (410-496 MPa) with impressive elongation of 20-33%, offering excellent ductility and toughness for both room temperature and elevated temperature applications.

Applications

▪ Ideal for chemical processing and high-temperature environments, ENi-1 is widely used in:
▪ Chemical & Petrochemical Industry: Chemical industry fabrications processing vinyl chloride, fatty acids, soda manufacturing, sodium metal silicate production, and various alkaline chemical processing equipment. Essential for reactors, vessels, and piping systems exposed to caustic media.
▪ High-Temperature Heat Treatment: Trays, baskets, fixtures used in carburizing and carbonitriding heat treatment processes; refractory anchors, strand annealing tubes, radiant tubes, and high-velocity gas burners requiring oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures.
▪ Industrial Manufacturing: Insulating cans in ammonia reformers, catalyst support grids in nitric acid manufacturing, paper industry equipment, and general fabrication requiring pure nickel corrosion resistance.
▪ General Fabrication: Dissimilar metal welding between Nickel 200/201 and carbon/low-alloy/stainless steels; overlay cladding for corrosion protection on steel structures; repairing cast iron components with nickel-based filler metal.

FAQS

图片名称

What standards does ENi-1 comply with?

图片名称

ENi-1 complies with AWS A5.11 and ASME SFA 5.11 standards for nickel and nickel alloy covered arc welding electrodes, with UNS number W82141.

图片名称

What is the recommended welding current for ENi-1 with 3.2mm diameter?

图片名称

For 3.2mm (1/8") diameter, the recommended current is 85-110A (flat position) and 80-90A (vertical/overhead position) with 26-30V voltage, using DC+ polarity.

图片名称

Can ENi-1 be used for dissimilar metal welding?

图片名称

Yes, ENi-1 is widely used for dissimilar welding between commercially pure nickel alloys (Nickel 200/201) and carbon steel, stainless steel, or other iron-based alloys. It is also suitable for overlaying steel and welding the clad side of nickel-clad steel.
