Product Description
ERNiFeCr-1 is a premium nickel-iron-chromium solid welding wire compliant with AWS A5.14/A5.14M standards, specifically engineered for welding Incoloy® 825 (UNS N08825) and similar nickel-iron-chromium-molybdenum-copper alloys.
It features a balanced composition with 38.0-46.0wt.% nickel, 19.5-23.5wt.% chromium, and significant additions of iron (22.0wt.% min), molybdenum (2.5-3.5wt.%), and copper (1.5-3.0wt.%).
This filler metal is compatible with GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and SAW processes, supporting both homogeneous joining and corrosion-resistant overlay cladding.
Its high nickel content and precise alloying ensure reliable performance in complex corrosive environments.
Features
▪ Exceptional Corrosion Resistance: ERNiFeCr-1 offers superior resistance to a wide range of corrosive media, particularly in moderately oxidizing and reducing environments. It excels in handling sulfuric and phosphoric acids, as well as mixed media containing chlorides. The addition of molybdenum and copper enhances its resistance to localized attacks such as pitting and crevice corrosion.
▪ Outstanding Cracking Resistance: The high nickel content provides effective resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking (SCC). The weld metal exhibits a fully austenitic structure with high resistance to hot cracking, ensuring structural integrity in demanding industrial applications.
▪ Stable Mechanical Performance: As-welded joints typically exhibit a tensile strength of 550-610 MPa and an elongation of 25-34%, matching or exceeding the properties of the base material. It maintains good toughness and ductility across a broad temperature range, from cryogenic to moderately elevated temperatures.
Applications
▪ ERNiFeCr-1 is widely utilized in industries where reliable corrosion resistance is paramount:
▪ Chemical & Petrochemical Industry: Used for reactors, heat exchangers, and piping systems handling sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and organic acids.
▪ Oil & Gas Sector: Ideal for acid oil and gas treatment equipment, pipelines, and components exposed to sour environments.
▪ Environmental Protection: Applied in flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems and acid wastewater treatment facilities.
▪ Industrial Manufacturing: Used in pickling tanks, paper manufacturing bleaching equipment, and pollution control systems.

FAQS
What is the primary use of ERNiFeCr-1 welding wire?
ERNiFeCr-1 is primarily used for welding Incoloy 825 and similar nickel-iron-chromium-molybdenum-copper alloys, as well as for corrosion-resistant overlay cladding. It is especially effective in environments containing sulfuric and phosphoric acids.
How does ERNiFeCr-1 resist stress corrosion cracking (SCC)?
Its high nickel content (38-46%) provides excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, particularly in media containing chloride ions. This makes it a reliable choice for critical components in the chemical and oil industries.
What are the recommended welding parameters for ERNiFeCr-1?
It is compatible with TIG, MIG, and SAW processes, typically using high-purity argon for TIG and argon-helium mixtures for MIG.To ensure weld quality, it is recommended to maintain a low interpass temperature (≤150°C) and ensure thorough cleanliness of the weld zone.
