Product Description
RBCuZn-C (Low Fuming Bronze) is a general-purpose copper-zinc brazing filler metal complying with AWS A5.8 standard (equivalent to ISO24373 Cu6810, GB/T9460 SCu6810, UNS C68100). Typical composition: 56.0-60.0% Cu, 0.80-1.10% Sn, 0.25-1.20% Fe, 0.01-0.50% Mn, 0.04-0.15% Si, with balance Zn. Contains no nickel. Features excellent fluidity, good strength, and low fuming characteristics. Suitable for gas-flame brazing, oxy-fuel welding, furnace, and induction brazing of steel, copper alloys, cast iron, nickel alloys, and stainless steel. A borax-boric acid flux is required for bare rods.
Features
▪ Low Fuming: High silicon content effectively controls zinc evaporation, minimizing fumes during brazing.
▪ Good Fluidity: Melting range 866-888°C (1590-1630°F) with excellent flow characteristics.
▪ General-Purpose: Suitable for wide range of base metals including steel, copper alloys, cast iron, nickel alloys, and stainless steel.
▪ Good Machinability: Lower melting point makes it easily machinable, excellent for sheet metal work.
▪ High Strength: Tensile strength approx. 415-470 MPa (60-68 ksi) with good ductility.
▪ Wide Compatibility: Available as bare rod or flux-coated forms for various applications.
Applications
▪ Steel Fabrication: General steel-to-steel brazing, sheet metal work, structural components.
▪ Copper and Brass: Copper pipe joints, brass fittings, heat exchangers, radiators.
▪ Cast Iron: Cast iron repair, gray cast iron brazing, ductile iron components.
▪ Dissimilar Metals: Steel-to-copper, steel-to-nickel alloy, stainless steel-to-copper joints.
▪ Carbide Tool Embedding: Inlaid carbide cutting tools, wear-resistant overlay applications.

FAQS
Difference between RBCuZn-C and RBCuZn-B?
RBCuZn-C contains no nickel, while RBCuZn-B contains 0.2-0.8% Ni. Both have similar strength (415-470 MPa), but RBCuZn-B offers slightly better corrosion resistance. RBCuZn-C is the most widely used low-fuming bronze for general applications.
Flux requirements for RBCuZn-C brazing?
Borax-boric acid flux required for bare rods. Flux-coated versions are available for convenience. Use bronze brazing flux for optimal wetting and oxide removal.
Brazing temperature range?
910-955°C (1670-1750°F). Use neutral or slightly oxidizing flame for oxy-acetylene brazing. Heat quickly to minimize zinc evaporation and reduce porosity.
