Product Description

EFeMn-B is a high-manganese steel welding electrode classified under AWS A5.13 specification, designed for welding and surfacing of austenitic manganese steel requiring enhanced work-hardening properties. The electrode deposits weld metal with elevated manganese content of 14-16% and carbon content of 0.7-1.2%, with nickel additions of 3-5% to improve toughness and crack resistance. Compatible with AC or DC polarity, it produces austenitic weld metal with superior work-hardening characteristics compared to EFeMn-A, making it ideal for the most severe impact and abrasion applications where maximum wear resistance is required.

Features

▪ High Manganese Content: Contains 14-16% manganese, significantly higher than EFeMn-A, providing enhanced work-hardening capabilities and superior impact resistance in extreme service conditions.
▪ Enhanced Work-Hardening: Surface hardness increases from approximately 200-250 HB (as-welded) to 500-550 HB after impact or deformation, exceeding EFeMn-A's hardening potential for the most demanding applications.
▪ Nickel Alloying Addition: Contains 3-5% nickel to enhance weld metal toughness and reduce hot cracking susceptibility, essential for welding high-manganese steels with elevated manganese content.
▪ Excellent Crack Resistance: The optimized chemical composition provides excellent resistance to hot cracking and solidification cracking during welding of high-manganese steels, even with the higher manganese content.
▪ Maximum Wear Resistance: Delivers superior abrasion resistance in service due to the higher manganese content and enhanced work-hardening characteristics, ideal for the most severe wear environments.

Applications

▪ Designed for the most demanding applications requiring maximum impact and abrasion resistance, EFeMn-B is widely used in:
▪ Extreme Mining Conditions: Primary crusher liners, grinding mills with severe impact, and mining machinery components experiencing the highest levels of impact and abrasion.
▪ Heavy Railroad Applications: High-traffic railway frogs, switch points, and critical railroad components requiring maximum work-hardening characteristics and wear resistance.
▪ Steel Mill Extreme Service: Hot strip mill components subject to severe thermal cycling and impact, requiring enhanced work-hardening properties.
▪ Crushing Equipment: Large rock crushers, aggregate processing equipment, and crushing machinery operating under the most severe service conditions.
▪ High-Impact Machinery: Equipment subjected to extreme impact loading where standard EFeMn-A weld deposits may not provide sufficient work-hardening and wear resistance.

FAQS

图片名称

What is the main difference between EFeMn-B and EFeMn-A?

图片名称

EFeMn-B contains higher manganese content (14-16% vs 11-14%) for enhanced work-hardening and superior impact resistance in the most demanding applications.

图片名称

When should EFeMn-B be used instead of EFeMn-A?

图片名称

Use EFeMn-B for extreme impact and abrasion conditions where maximum wear resistance is required, such as primary crushers or high-traffic railroad components.

图片名称

Can EFeMn-B be used for general manganese steel welding?

图片名称

Yes, but EFeMn-A is more economical for standard applications. EFeMn-B is specifically designed for the most severe service conditions.
