Product Description

RCoCr-B is a cobalt-base solid welding wire classified under AWS A5.21 specification, known commercially as Stellite® wire equivalent. The wire contains approximately 30% chromium, 4-6% tungsten, and 2.0-2.7% carbon, with the balance cobalt (approximately 60-65%). This composition creates a carbide-strengthened matrix with higher hardness and wear resistance compared to RCoCr-A. Designed for gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW/TIG) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW/MIG), it produces as-welded hardness of 45-50 HRC (approximately 420-460 HB), capable of maintaining hardness at elevated temperatures up to 750°C (1382°F). The higher carbon content increases carbide formation for superior abrasive wear resistance while maintaining good thermal shock resistance.

Features

▪ Higher Hardness Than RCoCr-A: The increased carbon content (2.0-2.7%) produces more chromium carbides, delivering higher as-welded hardness of 45-50 HRC compared to RCoCr-A's 40-45 HRC.
▪ Enhanced Abrasive Wear Resistance: The higher carbide content provides superior resistance to abrasive wear in severe service conditions, making it ideal for applications with high levels of abrasion.
▪ Good High-Temperature Performance: Maintains hardness and strength at temperatures up to 750°C, though slightly lower than RCoCr-A due to the higher carbon content.
▪ Excellent Thermal Shock Resistance: The cobalt matrix provides outstanding resistance to thermal cycling and thermal shock, preventing crack formation during rapid temperature changes.
▪ Precise Weld Deposition: The solid wire format provides clean, low-spatter weld deposits with excellent control using GTAW/TIG or GMAW/MIG processes, suitable for precision applications.

Applications

▪ Designed for applications requiring higher hardness and enhanced abrasive wear resistance than RCoCr-A, RCoCr-B is commonly applied in:
▪ High-Wear Dies: Stamping dies, punching dies, and forming dies requiring high hardness and excellent wear resistance in production operations.
▪ Mining Equipment: Crusher liners, grinding media, and mining components subjected to severe abrasive wear requiring maximum wear resistance.
▪ Metal Processing: Hot shear blades, slitter knives, and cutting tools requiring high hardness and wear resistance with moderate thermal shock resistance.
▪ Pump Components: Slurry pump liners, impeller wear rings, and pump components handling abrasive slurries requiring high hardness and corrosion resistance.
▪ Industrial Machinery: Guide rails, wear plates, and machinery components subjected to severe abrasive wear with minimal impact loading.

FAQS

图片名称

What is the main difference between RCoCr-B and RCoCr-A?

图片名称

RCoCr-B has higher carbon content (2.0-2.7% vs 1.0-2.0%) for increased hardness (45-50 HRC vs 40-45 HRC) and superior abrasive wear resistance.

图片名称

When should RCoCr-B be chosen over RCoCr-A?

图片名称

Use RCoCr-B for applications with severe abrasive wear requiring maximum hardness and wear resistance, where impact loading is minimal.

图片名称

What welding processes can be used with RCoCr-B?

图片名称

RCoCr-B is designed for GTAW/TIG and GMAW/MIG welding processes, using argon or argon-helium shielding gas.
