Product Description

ECoCr-B is a cobalt-base hardfacing electrode classified under AWS A5.13/EWC standards, known commercially as Stellite® equivalent. The electrode deposits weld metal containing approximately 30% chromium, 4-6% tungsten, and 2.0-2.7% carbon, with the balance cobalt (approximately 60-65%). This composition creates a carbide-strengthened matrix with higher hardness and wear resistance compared to ECoCr-A. Compatible with AC or DC polarity, it produces as-welded hardness of 45-50 HRC (approximately 420-460 HB), capable of maintaining hardness at elevated temperatures up to 750°C (1382°F). The higher carbon content increases carbide formation for superior abrasive wear resistance while maintaining good thermal shock resistance.

Features

▪ Higher Hardness Than ECoCr-A: The increased carbon content (2.0-2.7%) produces more chromium carbides, delivering higher as-welded hardness of 45-50 HRC compared to ECoCr-A's 40-45 HRC.
▪ Enhanced Abrasive Wear Resistance: The higher carbide content provides superior resistance to abrasive wear in severe service conditions, making it ideal for applications with high levels of abrasion.
▪ Good High-Temperature Performance: Maintains hardness and strength at temperatures up to 750°C, though slightly lower than ECoCr-A due to the higher carbon content.
▪ Excellent Thermal Shock Resistance: The cobalt matrix provides outstanding resistance to thermal cycling and thermal shock, preventing crack formation during rapid temperature changes.
▪ Slightly Reduced Ductility: Compared to ECoCr-A, the higher carbide content slightly reduces ductility, making it less suitable for applications with severe impact loading.

Applications

▪ Designed for applications requiring higher hardness and enhanced abrasive wear resistance than ECoCr-A, ECoCr-B is commonly applied in:
▪ High-Wear Dies: Stamping dies, punching dies, and forming dies requiring high hardness and excellent wear resistance in production operations.
▪ Mining Equipment: Crusher liners, grinding media, and mining components subjected to severe abrasive wear requiring maximum wear resistance.
▪ Metal Processing: Hot shear blades, slitter knives, and cutting tools requiring high hardness and wear resistance with moderate thermal shock resistance.
▪ Pump Components: Slurry pump liners, impeller wear rings, and pump components handling abrasive slurries requiring high hardness and corrosion resistance.
▪ Industrial Machinery: Guide rails, wear plates, and machinery components subjected to severe abrasive wear with minimal impact loading.

FAQS

图片名称

What is the main difference between ECoCr-B and ECoCr-A?

图片名称

ECoCr-B has higher carbon content (2.0-2.7% vs 1.0-2.0%) for increased hardness (45-50 HRC vs 40-45 HRC) and superior abrasive wear resistance, but slightly reduced ductility.

图片名称

When should ECoCr-B be chosen over ECoCr-A?

图片名称

Use ECoCr-B for applications with severe abrasive wear requiring maximum hardness and wear resistance, where impact loading is minimal.

图片名称

Can ECoCr-B withstand high temperatures?

图片名称

Yes, maintains hardness up to 750°C (1382°F), though slightly lower than ECoCr-A's 800°C limit due to higher carbon content.
