Product Description
E308LT1-1 is a premium ultra-low carbon 18-9 austenitic stainless steel gas-shielded rutile flux-cored wire, fully compliant with AWS A5.22 and GB/T 17853-2018 standards. With carbon content strictly controlled at ≤0.03% to prevent chromium carbide precipitation, it is engineered for all-position welding (flat, horizontal, vertical-up, vertical-down and overhead) using DC reverse polarity (DCEP). It is compatible with both 100% CO₂ and Ar-15-25% CO₂ mixed gas shielding, offering excellent adaptability to different welding equipment and site conditions. Typical deposited metal composition: 18.0-20.0% Cr, 9.0-11.0% Ni, ≤2.0% Mn, ≤1.0% Si, ≤0.03% C, balance Fe.
Features
· Exceptionally stable and soft arc with instant ignition and excellent re-ignition capability, ideal for intermittent welding and tacking operations
· Extremely low spatter generation with fine, easily removable particles, drastically reducing post-weld grinding and cleaning time by up to 40%
· Beautiful weld bead appearance with uniform, fine ripples and excellent wetting characteristics, producing smooth, defect-free surfaces that require minimal finishing
· Self-peeling slag that removes completely even in vertical and overhead positions, leaving no residual slag inclusions
· Superior intergranular corrosion resistance, eliminating the need for post-weld heat treatment in most general applications
· Consistent mechanical properties: tensile strength 550-650 MPa, yield strength ≥380 MPa, elongation ≥30%, ensuring reliable structural integrity
· High deposition efficiency (up to 85%) and fast travel speed, significantly improving productivity compared to solid wires
· Low fume emission rate, creating a safer and more comfortable working environment for welders
Applications
Widely used for welding 304 and 304L austenitic stainless steels in various industries. Typical applications include food processing machinery (conveyors, mixers, tanks), dairy equipment, pharmaceutical production lines, chemical storage tanks and pipelines for non-corrosive to moderately corrosive media, architectural decoration (handrails, facades, structural frames), pressure vessels, kitchen utensils, water treatment equipment, and general stainless steel structural fabrication. It is also suitable for repairing and overlaying worn stainless steel components.

FAQS
What is the difference between E308LT-1 and E308L solid wire?
E308LT-1 is a flux-cored wire offering higher deposition rates (up to 4x covered electrodes, 50% higher than solid MIG), all-position capability, and self-shielding flux core, while E308L is a solid wire requiring external shielding gas. Flux-cored wires provide better penetration and higher efficiency in thicker sections.
What shielding gas is recommended for E308LT-1?
E308LT-1 is designed for 100% CO₂ shielding gas for optimal penetration and mechanical properties. Alternatively, the E308LT1-4 variant can use 75-80% Argon + balance CO₂ mixed gas for smoother arc and reduced spatter. Gas flow rates typically range from 20-25 L/min.
Can E308LT-1 be used for welding AISI 321 or 347 stainless steel?
Yes, E308LT-1 may be used for welding AISI 321 and 347 titanium- or niobium-stabilized stainless steels, provided the service temperature does not exceed 500°F (260°C). For higher temperature applications, filler metals matching the stabilized grades (such as E347) should be considered.
