Product Description
ERNi-1 is a premium pure nickel solid welding wire compliant with AWS A5.14/A5.14M standards, designed for Nickel 200 (UNS N02200) and Nickel 201 (UNS N02201) as well as similar commercially pure nickel alloys. Featuring a high-purity nickel composition (≥93.0wt.% Ni) with titanium (2.0-3.5wt.%) for deoxidation and impurity control (C≤0.15wt.%, S≤0.015wt.%), it excels in alkaline and high-temperature environments. Compatible with GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and SAW processes, it supports welding of homogeneous pure nickel alloys, dissimilar metal joints between nickel and stainless/carbon steels, and corrosion-resistant surfacing on carbon steel substrates.
Features
▪ Superior Corrosion Resistance: Offers exceptional resistance to alkaline solutions, including caustic soda and potassium hydroxide at various concentrations and temperatures. It also provides good resistance to non-oxidizing acids (sulfuric, phosphoric) and aqueous media. The weld metal effectively resists stress corrosion cracking in alkaline environments.
▪ Stable Performance: Titanium-deoxidized design controls porosity and inhibits gas formation during welding. The low-impurity composition with minimal carbon and sulfur prevents hot cracking. Weld metal exhibits tensile strength of 65,000-73,000psi (448-503MPa), elongation ≥28%, and excellent ductility. The weld metal properties match the base material characteristics without requiring complex post-weld heat treatment.
▪ Excellent Weldability: Ensures smooth weld formation, moderate molten metal fluidity, and easy slag removal. Compatible with DCEN (GTAW) and DCEP (GMAW) modes, it adapts to various welding positions with flexible interpass temperature control. The wire provides stable arc characteristics with minimal spatter across a wide current range.
Applications
▪ Ideal for high-temperature and alkaline corrosive environments, ERNi-1 is widely used in:
▪ Chemical Industry: Caustic evaporators, alkali storage tanks, nickel plating equipment, and caustic soda production vessels. It serves in components handling chlor-alkali processes and other alkaline media.
▪ Petrochemical Industry: High-temperature heat exchangers, reformer tubes, furnace components, and catalyst support structures. It is used in ammonia reformers and nitric acid plant equipment operating at elevated temperatures.
▪ Power & Energy Sector: Coal-fired boiler components, high-temperature radiant tubes, refractory anchors, and steam generating equipment. It provides reliable performance in cyclic thermal service conditions.
▪ General Industrial Applications: Heat treatment trays, baskets, and fixtures for carburizing and carbonitriding processes. It serves for overlay welding on carbon steel for corrosion protection and repairing cast iron castings.

FAQS
What base materials can ERNi-1 weld?
ERNi-1 is primarily designed for welding Nickel 200 and Nickel 201, as well as joining nickel alloys to stainless steel, carbon steel, and copper-nickel alloys.
What shielding gas should be used with ERNi-1?
For GTAW/TIG welding, use 100% argon; for GMAW/MIG welding, use 75% argon + 25% helium mixture for optimal results.
Does ERNi-1 require post-weld heat treatment?
No, ERNi-1 typically does not require post-weld heat treatment as the weld metal properties match the base material characteristics in the as-welded condition
