Product Description

AWS E6011 is a cellulose-coated electrode compliant with AWS A5.1 standards, designed for welding mild and low-alloy steels with versatile current compatibility. Featuring a high-cellulose potassium coating that produces a forceful arc similar to E6010, it offers deep penetration characteristics while being compatible with both AC and DC+ polarity. This electrode excels in applications where deep penetration through surface contaminants is required but AC power sources are used, making it ideal for maintenance and field welding.

Features

▪ Versatile Power Compatibility: Designed to operate on both AC and DC+ (DCEP) power sources, offering the flexibility of E6010's deep penetration with AC usability. The potassium coating modifies the arc characteristics to maintain stable operation on alternating current.
▪ Deep Penetration: Provides excellent root penetration and gap-bridging capability, similar to E6010, allowing welding through light rust, paint, mill scale, and other surface contaminants. The forceful arc ensures good fusion in less-than-ideal joint conditions.
▪ All-Position Performance: Produces a fast-freezing slag that enables welding in all positions including vertical-up and overhead. The slag system allows good visibility of the weld pool and facilitates smooth bead formation with proper technique.

Applications

▪ Ideal for maintenance welding and applications requiring deep penetration with AC power sources, E6011 is widely used in:
▪ Maintenance & Repair: Agricultural equipment, construction machinery, and general maintenance where joint surfaces may be dirty or have varying degrees of surface preparation.
▪ General Fabrication: Light structural work, farm equipment repairs, and hobby welding projects where AC welders are commonly used. Excellent for welding through galvanized coatings and light oils.
▪ Field Applications: Outdoor welding jobs where AC power sources are more readily available or portable equipment is required. Suitable for root pass welding in pipe applications when AC power is the only option.

FAQS

图片名称

What is the main difference between E6010 and E6011?

图片名称

E6010 only works with DC+ polarity, while E6011 can be used with both AC and DC+ power sources.

图片名称

Can E6011 weld through rust and paint like E6010?

图片名称

Yes, E6011 provides similar deep penetration and can weld through light rust, paint, and mill scale effectively.

图片名称

Is E6011 suitable for pipe welding?

图片名称

E6011 can be used for pipe root passes, especially with AC power, though E6010 or E6010-1 are preferred for critical applications.
