Product Description
RBCuZn-B is a nickel-aluminum bronze brazing filler metal complying with AWS A5.8 standard (equivalent to ISO24373 Cu6800, GB/T9460 SCu6800, UNS C68000). Typical composition: 56.0-60.0% Cu, 0.80-1.10% Sn, 0.2-0.8% Ni, 0.25-1.20% Fe, 0.01-0.50% Mn, 0.04-0.20% Si, with balance Zn. Features good fluidity, moderate strength, and corrosion resistance. Suitable for gas-flame brazing, oxy-fuel welding, and furnace/induction brazing of copper, copper alloys, steel, nickel alloys, and cast iron. A slightly oxidizing flame and appropriate flux are recommended for optimal brazing results.
Features
▪ Good Fluidity: Melting range 866-882°C (1590-1620°F) with excellent flow characteristics.
▪ Moderate Strength: Tensile strength approx. 450 MPa (65 ksi), suitable for general brazing applications.
▪ Low Fuming: Silicon addition reduces zinc evaporation, minimizing fumes during brazing.
▪ Enhanced Strength: Ni and Fe additions improve hardness and strength compared to plain brass.
▪ Wide Compatibility: Suitable for copper, brass, bronze, steel, nickel alloys, and cast iron.
▪ Good Wetting: Excellent wetting on both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Applications
▪ Plumbing and HVAC: Copper pipe joints, brass fittings, heat exchangers.
▪ Marine Applications: Marine hardware, brass fittings, seawater-resistant components.
▪ Industrial Equipment: Valve bodies, pump parts, bearing bushings, gear repairs.
▪ Dissimilar Metal Brazing: Steel-to-copper joints, steel-to-brass connections, nickel alloy brazing.
▪ Tool and Die: Carbide tool embedding, overlay brazing on wear surfaces.

FAQS
Difference between RBCuZn-B and RBCuZn-A?
RBCuZn-B contains Ni (0.2-0.8%), Fe (0.25-1.20%), Mn (0.01-0.50%), higher strength (450 MPa vs. 345 MPa). RBCuZn-A is simpler brass (no Ni, Fe, Mn). Choose RBCuZn-B for higher strength and low-fuming applications; RBCuZn-A for general brazing.
Flux requirements for RBCuZn-B brazing?
Borax-boric acid flux required. Use copper brazing flux for optimal wetting and oxide removal. Pre-coat rod or apply flux to joint surface before heating.
Brazing temperature range?
910-938°C (1670-1720°F). Use slightly oxidizing flame for oxy-acetylene brazing to reduce zinc evaporation. Heat quickly to minimize high-temperature residence time.
