Product Description

ERCuNi (Copper-Nickel 70/30) is a copper-nickel alloy complying with AWS A5.7 standard (equivalent to ISO24373 Cu7158, GB/T9460 SCu7158, UNS C71500, DIN 2.0837). Typical composition: Cu balance, 29.0-32.0% Ni, 0.4-1.0% Fe, 0.5-1.5% Mn, 0.20-0.50% Ti. Features excellent seawater corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, and non-magnetic characteristics. Suitable for TIG, MIG, and oxy-fuel welding of copper-nickel alloys, dissimilar metal joining (copper to steel, nickel alloys to steel), and surfacing applications. Inert shielding gas (Ar or Ar/He mixtures) is required.

Features

▪ Excellent Seawater Resistance: Outstanding corrosion resistance in marine environments, including resistance to marine biofouling and impingement corrosion.
▪ Good Mechanical Properties: Tensile strength 400-420 MPa, yield strength 200-250 MPa, elongation 25-36%, Brinell hardness 115-120 HB.
▪ High Temperature Resistance: Melting range 1180-1240°C, suitable for continuous operation up to 350°C.
▪ Non-Magnetic: No magnetic attraction, suitable for applications requiring non-magnetic properties.
▪ Good Weldability: Suitable for various welding processes including TIG, MIG, and SMAW with appropriate filler metals.
▪ Excellent Fabrication Properties: Good ductility and formability for cold and hot working processes.

Applications

FAQS

图片名称

What is the difference between CuNi30 and CuNi10?

图片名称

CuNi30 contains 30% nickel with higher strength and better corrosion resistance, melting point 1180-1240°C. CuNi10 contains 10% nickel with lower strength but good formability and lower cost. CuNi30 is preferred for high-performance marine applications, while CuNi10 is suitable for general-purpose seawater applications.

图片名称

What shielding gas is recommended for CuNi30 welding?

图片名称

Pure argon (Ar, 100%) or argon-helium mixtures (Ar + 0.5-95% He) are recommended for TIG and MIG welding. Helium addition increases heat input and improves weld penetration.

图片名称

What is the typical welding temperature for CuNi30?

图片名称

For TIG and MIG welding, no preheat is generally required for thin sections. For thick sections or constrained joints, preheat to 150-200°C is recommended. Welding should be performed with controlled heat input to minimize distortion.
