Product Description
ERCuMnNiAl (High-Manganese Aluminum Bronze) is a high-performance copper alloy complying with multiple international standards including AWS A5.7 ERCuMnNiAl (equivalent to EN ISO 24373 S Cu 6338, DIN 1733 SG-CuMn13Al7, Material No. 2.1367). Typical composition: Cu balance, 11.0-14.0% Mn, 7.0-8.5% Al, 1.5-3.0% Ni, 2.0-4.0% Fe, ≤0.10% Si, ≤0.15% Zn, ≤0.02% Pb. This zinc-free alloy is specifically designed for seawater environments, offering exceptional mechanical strength, outstanding corrosion resistance, excellent wear resistance, and superior cavitation/erosion resistance. Widely used for TIG and MIG welding of marine components, ship propellers, pumps, valves, and surfacing applications on steel and cast iron. Pure argon shielding gas is recommended.
Features
▪ Ultra-High Strength: Tensile strength 800-900 MPa, yield strength approximately 650-880 MPa, Brinell hardness 180-240 HB, elongation 10%, representing the highest grade of aluminum bronze alloys.
▪ Exceptional Corrosion Resistance: Zinc-free formulation provides outstanding resistance to seawater, atmospheric corrosion, erosion, and cavitation damage in marine environments.
▪ Superior Wear Resistance: High manganese and nickel content enhance abrasion resistance for metal-to-metal wear under high pressure conditions.
▪ Excellent Weldability: Highest grade among aluminum bronze types with very good weldability compared to common aluminum bronzes; suitable for multi-layer surfacing without redrying.
▪ High Temperature Performance: Melting range 945-985°C, suitable for high-temperature applications with good oxidation resistance.
▪ Versatile Compatibility: Suitable for joining and cladding copper alloys, unalloyed and low-alloy steels, and grey cast iron.
Applications
▪ Marine Engineering: Ship propellers, rudder components, marine hardware, seawater pumps, valves, desalination equipment, and underwater fittings.
▪ Surfacing and Cladding: Overlay welding on cast iron and low-alloy steels requiring high corrosion and wear resistance, particularly in marine and chemical plants.
▪ Turbine Components: Kaplan turbine blades, Francis turbines, Pelton wheels, and other hydroelectric equipment subject to cavitation and erosion.
▪ Industrial Machinery: Bearings, shafts, guide grooves, sliding surfaces, pulling tools, and wear plates in corrosive environments.
▪ Chemical Processing: Equipment and components requiring resistance to corrosion, cavitation, and erosion in power and chemical plants.
